Erinn is a Brooklyn based artist. She received a BFA from University of Michigan and MFA from the New York Academy of Art. She has exhibited in NYC, Iceland, and Finland. Her background working on sets for the film industry informs her studio work.
In painting and sculpture, the artist’s work focuses on partially abstracted objects formed with corporal and landscape references. She uses ephemeral materials such as wax and water to convey ideas of internal translucency and opacity.
Studying how light is captured and diffused by translucent substances, she uses her mixed-media sculptures as the basis for paintings. The concept for each piece is based on a specific experience, but the imagery is obscured to leave open to interpretation.
